ABSTRACT

This paper discusses the use of a graphic representation known as nomograph in the computation of weighted average of a student’s grades. Other interesting applications as well as their mathemati­cal explanations are also presented.

ABSTRACT

A sesquiterpene lactone was obtained from the chloroform extract of Pscudoelephantopus spicatus Rohr. Its structure was elucidated by 1 D and 2D NMR spectroscopy. It was found to exhibit antifungal activity against C. albicans and A. niger.

ABSTRACT

This paper extends the concept of singular and non-singular graphs to digraphs. Reduction formulas are established here and used to investigate oriented wheels. All orientations of a wheel which yield a singular digraph are completely determined. Moreover, if an orientation yields a non-singular digraph, the determinant of the adjacency matrix of the oriented wheel is also found.

This paper presents the co nceptions of school mathematics learning and practices on instruction which mathematics educators, theorists, researchers and practitioners deem prevalent and will continue to prevail in the mathematics classrooms in the next millenium. The study cites research endeavors on Philippine mathematics education that deal primarily with the current theories on teaching and learning mathematics. It attempts to draw implications of the learning theories for the secondary mathematics curriculum of our country.

ABSTRACT

This paper gives characterizations for the space BMOH of harmonic functions of bounded mean oscillation on regular hyperbolic Riemann surfaces. The John-Nirenberg type of characterization given in [5] is simplified when the Riemann surface is regular.
